Nearly 10 years ago I became interested in 3D art after years of being a 2D visual artist/photographer. So much emotion and spirit is available within the wood knots - in shape and form; I strive to extract the visage from the wood, each work exuding a separate emotion and personality.

Each face/work invokes new techniques built upon from previous methods of creation-so in a sense it's always an evolving method, laying a new step for the next process. Keeping records and notations is helpful, as many methods and layers of technique are usually involved in the creative process which usually begins with an idea along with a photograph for reference.

I am often selling on-line via ebay when time permits along with other projects; some and some not related to sculpting and carving, but I find working with wood are one of my favored activities.

Kind Regards,

Paul Ayars
